Volunteer Spotlight - Chris Russoniello
This month's volunteer spotlight shines on Chris Russoniello! This is Chris’ second summer here at The Raptor Trust, and he is appreciated by the staff for his tenacity during our busiest season and his ability to take it all in stride.
We are overloaded with baby waterfowl here in the summer months. They make quite the mess, but Chris always helps with a smile on his face. A lover of all animals, he originally started volunteering because he wanted to find any small way to give back. But the truth is he has given back in a really significant way, donating over 300 hours of his time already to our organization. His kind-natured spirit and empathy towards all creatures make him an excellent volunteer and an excellent trainer of new volunteers.
Chris’ favorite bird is the Great Blue Heron, and his favorite part of being a volunteer is the excitement of our goslings and ducklings as they dive into their new water bowls and copious amounts of duckweed (it is never enough). We cannot express our gratitude enough. The Raptor Trust - and all of the waterfowl - thank you!
